Combining the Art of Magic with Autism Advocacy
CODY CLARK’S MAGIC CAMP
Using the arts of magic, theater, and storytelling, professional magician, Cody Clark, shares how living with autism has made a positive impact on his life while teaching students how to develop social skills, build their confidence, and find a supportive community.
A camp for neurodivergent and neurotypical children, all types of young learners will delight in this unique and enriching experience that promotes inclusivity and belonging.
Weekend Camp Schedule:
Saturday, June 15, 10am - 4pm (with 12pm lunch break)
Beginners Magic Class - Camp participants will learn basic magic effects with household objects such as cards, coins, envelopes, and pencils. Most of the effects taught can be found in library books or most toy store magic sets.
Sunday, June 16, 10am - 2pm (with 12pm lunch break)
Sensory Friendly Spectacular Magic Show - Cody provides campers an autistic-friendly magic show without the loud noises, and bright lights but still keeping the fun! Students will then start Dress Rehearsals in preparation for their performances.
1:00 PM - Families join for student performances, followed by "A Different Way of Thinking" - Students dazzle their families with performances to show off their magical education over the weekend. Followed by Cody Clark's one-man performance “A Different Way of Thinking,” which is free and open to the public.
All Supplies are included in the cost of the Camp.
