Combining the Art of Magic with Autism Advocacy



CODY CLARK’S MAGIC CAMP

Using the arts of magic, theater, and storytelling, professional magician, Cody Clark, shares how living with autism has made a positive impact on his life while teaching students how to develop social skills, build their confidence, and find a supportive community.

A camp for neurodivergent and neurotypical children, all types of young learners will delight in this unique and enriching experience that promotes inclusivity and belonging.


Weekend Camp Schedule:


Saturday, June 15, 10am - 4pm (with 12pm lunch break)

Beginners Magic Class - Camp participants will learn basic magic effects with household objects such as cards, coins, envelopes, and pencils. Most of the effects taught can be found in library books or most toy store magic sets.


Sunday, June 16, 10am - 2pm (with 12pm lunch break) 

Sensory Friendly Spectacular Magic Show - Cody provides campers an autistic-friendly magic show without the loud noises, and bright lights but still keeping the fun! Students will then start Dress Rehearsals in preparation for their performances.


1:00 PM - Families join for student performances,  followed by "A Different Way of Thinking" - Students dazzle their families with performances to show off their magical education over the weekend. Followed by Cody Clark's one-man performance “A Different Way of Thinking,” which is free and open to the public.

All Supplies are included in the cost of the Camp.

A Different Way of Thinking - Autism Advocacy Magic Show

Sunday, June 16 - Free and Open to the Public

Using the arts of magic, theater, and storytelling, professional magician, Cody Clark, shares how having autism has made a positive impact in his life.


In his hour-long show, magician/autistic self-advocate Cody Clark combines magic, comedy, and storytelling to share what living with autism is like. Starting with his initial diagnosis and ending with his college graduation, Cody places his magic routines inside common life experiences to show how his autism makes him different, yet just like most people. By the end of his show, you’ll think quite differently about the art of magic and autism!

Sunday's performance is free and open to the public.

NEW! | Week-Long Magic Camp

Educator and Magician, Michael Principato leads a week-long class for all types of young learners who will delight in this unique and enriching experience that promotes inclusivity and belonging. The camp plans to teach neurodivergent and neurotypical children to perform more advanced illusionist tricks, develop social skills and self-confidence, and find a supportive community.


Camp Includes:


Monday, June 17 - Friday, June 21, 9am - 12pm (with snack break)

Camp participants will dig deeper into the skills and techniques to learn basic magic effects with household objects such as cards, coins, envelopes, and pencils while making friends and having fun! 


Friday, June 21 - 11:15 am - 12 pm  

Students present their magical skills in a family presentation! 


All Supplies are included in the cost of the Camp.
